Flint Bishop Debt Services retains Legal 500 Top Tier status

We are delighted to have retained our ‘Top Tier’ ranking in The Legal 500 for debt recovery for the sixth consecutive year.

The Legal 500 is the UK’s leading guide to law firms and solicitors. The rankings reflect months of extensive analysis by The Legal 500 research team, who conduct thousands of interviews and read through tens of thousands of submissions in order to select the very best lawyers and law firms in the UK.

Our Debt Services team has been recognised for specialising in managing volume recoveries for a wide range of national brands and is well-placed to advise on end-to-end collections. It is also acclaimed for having an especially strong presence in the utility industry.

Chief Executive Qamer Ghafoor is recognised for continuing to oversee the Debt Services team and acting as lead partner for some of the firm’s largest clients. Department head Niall Gilhooley is also particularly noted for his experience of working with regulatory bodies. Catherine Marksman and Natalie Lloyd-Nash are further key members of the team.

We are proud to be one of only two law firms in the region to hold the ‘Top Tier’ status for debt recovery. In addition, our commercial litigation team has maintained its ‘Top Tier’ status for 2024.

Commenting on the firm’s debt recovery service, one client said:

“Flint Bishop staff go above and beyond. They provide an exceptional service.”

Highly recommended individuals

Head of Debt Services Niall Gilhooley is named as a ‘Recommended Lawyer’.

Debt Recovery Manager Natalie Lloyd-Nash has again been recognised as a ‘Rising Star’, with fellow Debt Recovery Manager and Associate Solicitor, Catherine Marksman, named as a ‘Recommended Lawyer’ for the second year running.

Chief Executive Qamer Ghafoor has retained his ‘Hall of Fame’ status for commercial litigation; one of only three lawyers in the entire East Midlands region to hold this title. Qamer continues to act for clients in complex high-value litigation and is lauded for continuing to handle “complex disputes”, in addition to acting as the firm’s Chief Executive. Qamer is described as “a robust litigator, an excellent negotiator and an astute tactician.”

Commenting on the firm’s achievements, Qamer Ghafoor said:

“It is very encouraging to see that a record number of the firm’s practice areas and lawyers have been recognised in The Legal 500 this year. I am very proud of all of my colleagues who have been noted for their excellent work and especially pleased for those who have been recommended for the first time.”

This year’s rankings truly reflect the dedication and hard work of our legal and support team across the firm. Flint Bishop’s success would not be possible without the unwavering support from everyone in the firm and I would like to thank them all for their continued commitment and daily contributions.”
